Ορίζοντας την αρχιτεκτονική σαν μια έκφραση κουλτούρας που συνενώνει επιστήμη και τέχνη, την βλέπουμε να εξελίσσεται σύμφωνα με τις διαρκώς μεταβαλλόμενες πολιτισμικές και κοινωνικές συνθήκες. Η αρχιτεκτονική είναι μια δυναμική διαδικασία που μας αφορά όλους, όμως η γενική εκπαίδευση δεν στοχεύει στην κατανόηση του κοινού αστικού οικοσυστήματος. Το πρόγραμμα architecture4kids,http://architecture4kids.com/el/, απευθύνεται σε παιδιά του δημοτικού,με σκοπό τα παιδιά να έρθουν σε επαφή με γενικές έννοιες σχεδιασμού (planning), σχεδιασμού (design) και να αρχίσουν να διαμορφώνουν το απαραίτητο αισθητικό κριτήριο. Η εισαγωγή εννοιών όπως η βιωσιμότητα των πόλεων και της αρχιτεκτονικής θέτει τις βάσεις για ουσιαστικές βελτιώσεις στο περιβάλλον στο παρόν και μας γεμίζει ελπίδα για το μέλλον.  Τα παιδιά μαθαίνουν ότι οι πόλεις είναι αξιοθαύμαστα και εύπλαστα περιβάλλοντα, στα οποία συμμετέχουμε όλοι αφήνοντας τη σφραγίδα μας, για να εξελιχθούν σε δημιουργικούς και συνειδητοποιημένους πολίτες και να μπορέσουν να διαμορφώσουν φιλικές προς τον άνθρωπο πόλεις, που θα τις αγαπούν και θα τις σέβονται εξίσου με το φυσικό περιβάλλον. Αυτό πρέπει να είναι και η αρχιτεκτονική. Η τέχνη να φτιάχνουμε τον κόσμο μας, όπου οι γνώσεις και η τεχνολογία δεν μας περιορίζουν, αλλά μας δίνουν τη δυνατότητα να μετασχηματίζουμε την φαντασία σε πραγματικότητα. (EL)

Defining architecture as a cultural expression that brings together science and art, weobserve its evolution following the ever-changing cultural and social conditions. Architecture is a dynamic process that foresees and accommodates those needs and everyone should be involved in it but primary education does not aim to teach children to observe, understand and appreciate the built environment. architecture4kids, http://architecture4kids.com/en_GB/, is an introduction to architecture for primary school children. It is the age that education builds citizens, whereas after this stage, education focuses on creating professionals. Their imagination and positive thinking act as a foundation. Based on parts of the school curriculum, the workshops provide a multi-level approach.By encouraging creativity, positive thinking and better understanding of the urban ecosystem in primary education, we can hope to raise committed citizens. It is necessary to educate children in sensible urbanism and sustainable planning, so that they realize that every small or big decision they make influences their everyday environment. We plan and design our utopian cities with new materials and shapes in two-dimensional or three-dimensional structures.Children learn that cities are remarkable and malleable environments and become aware of their potential to change them for the best.
