Public Sculpture of the Black Sea -Tribute to Historical Memory-Constantin Brancusi -Endless Column -Sculptural Ensemble in Târgu-Jiu (Romania)

This dissertation was written as part of the MA in Black Sea Cultural Studies at the International Hellenic University. During the interwar period among thousands War Memorials, the Sculptural Ensemble of the Endless Column was erected in a Romanian provincial town. The dissertation presents the circumstances and the people contributed to its erection. It shows the uniqueness of the artwork both in style and in ideas behind it, compared with the dominant Paradigm of the Region’s Public Sculpture.
