Originally commissioned by the editors of a projected volume on the historiography of the Greek Civil War, this article examines scholarly works published in Greek and dealing with the civil war of 1946-1949. The focus is on the views, the arguments and the sources employed on the international dimensions of the conflict, the degree and motives of foreign involvement and the importance ascribed to it by professional historians. The reference to Jonathan Swift’s novel in the title is an intimation of the conclusion.
