The annual Symposium of the Christian Archaeological Society has been held regularly each spring since 1981, with the aim of promoting research in the field of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine archaeology and art. As one of the most prominent conferences in the field of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine archaeology and art, the annual Symposium welcomes scholars and young researchers to present their research on Early Christian, Byzantine and Post-Byzantine archaeology and art. One day of the three-day meeting is devoted to a specific scientific topic with relevant major papers, which the Organizing Committee assigns to specialists in the field from Greece and abroad. Its regular holding since 1981 and original research papers have established the annual Symposium of the Christian Archaeological Society as one of the most important scholarly meetings of researchers of Byzantine culture. The abstracts of the major papers and communications are published annually before the Symposium.
