The Society was founded in 2005 by Faculty members of Greek Universities whose field of expertise is on Environmental Education. The aims of the Society are: -The promotion of scientific research in the field of Environmental Education for Sustainability -The dissemination of this research in the Greek and international scientific community -The active involvement in and creative contribution to the international dialogue on these issues. H.A.S.E.E.S. aims to provide support to the wider Environmental Education (EE) community (teachers, educators and policy-makers) who are involved in the implementation of EE, and assist institutions (Ministries and other bodies) to make decisions on EE-related issues.

The Journal of “Environmental Education for Sustainability” is an electronic academic journal that publishes scientific studies (in Greek or in English) from the field of Environmental Education (EE) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
